Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Downloading and archiving

Coming up with a system for downloading and archiving shows after the format change and wondering what y'all are doing. Currently I'm following JodyC's advise: I now use Mozilla and Down Them All. Open archive thru mozilla, click the ftp for the show, right click once the files are open and click Down Them All, choose shn or flac files.
Then, back at show page, I click on the 64kbps MP3 ZIP and save those to hard-drive.
The flac's I get from Download Them All I burn to CD and delete them. This puts the show on hd in around 70-80MB as opposed to 1+GB for the flac. Then, I have the flacs on disc for trading. Wish I'd done this from the beginning a year ago - I've got three hard drives full to bursting with shows that I never put on CD. And yes, I pray to the hd gods daily that I never crash.
